At Cromwell you can choose from our long-lasting alkaline batteries from leading brands such as Duracell® and Energizer®.
Alkaline batteries use an alkaline electrolyte of potassium hydroxide. They derive their energy from the reaction between zinc metal and manganese dioxide.
Alkaline batteries are a better choice for devices that need standby power, such as a smoke alarm, due to being able to self-discharge at around 2% per year. Generally alkaline batteries are a very popular choice, being a budget-friendly option and having long shelf life. They are mainly used in low-drain devices, but can be used in a wide variety of products, such as clocks, toys and radios.
Alkaline batteries can be defined by their different sizes, each one suitable for different devices.

• AA - Widely used in toys, torches, battery operated lights.
• C - Batteries like these are mainly used in toys, flashlights, and portable radios.
• D - Large flashlights, stereos, and hands-free soap and paper towel dispensers work best with these batteries.
